Trailer: A Single Man

Set in Southern California during 1962, A Single Man depicts one day in the life of George (Firth), a middle-aged gay Englishman who works as a college professor in Los Angeles and whose lover, Jim (Goode), has recently died. Isherwood dedicated the novel to Gore Vidal.
Edmund White called A Single Man “one of the first and best novels of the modern gay liberation movement.”
The film premiered at the 66th Venice International Film Festival. It was nominated for the Golden Lion and Colin Firth won the Coppa Volpi for Best Actor.
